When you are applying for a job in today's world more than likely you are having to consent to a background check. For nannies this is essential. The day of employers being able to verify all of your information though making a few phone calls is long gone. If you are applying for any respectable job that pays decent it is given that some type of background check will be done on you.

More than likely your employers will look into your credit records, billing records, employment history, work history, driving records, education history and military history.

Unfortunately there is a lot of inaccurate data out there and this data can cost you your job.

Only when give consent or give up your rights to your information can employers do a background. These are some of the types of background checks that employers can do on an employee. All of these types of background checks have to be done with the employee's knowledge and consent or else it is illegal.

The main reason employer's do background checks is to find any false and misleading information that is on a person's resume. It is estimated that 30 to 40% of resumes contain information that is either false and misleading.

Many state governments also requires that companies that work with the elderly, children or this disabled do background checks on the employee's that they intend to hire.

You are able to see all information that your employer sees when they do a background check on you. It is your legal right. If any of this information can be disputed then it is your right to be able to dispute this information to make sure that your possible employer sees an accurate information of your past.
